Position Descriptions and Qualifications

  • Adult Program Leader -  Must have a valid driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years, and no DUI’s in the last two years and ability to drive a 15 passenger van.  Must be familiar with the strengths-based model of care and people with severe and persistent mental illness or the ability and willingness to learn.  Employee will effectively engage and build a trusting relationship with consumers to facilitate recovery.  Must have skills necessary to document and maintain case records, communicate effectively with others and be able to work as a team.  Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Adult Program Specialist - Must have a high school diploma or GED. Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human services situations.  Must have the ability to empower individuals and groups of individuals to reach personal goals.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUI’s in the last two years.  Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van.   Must complete case management training approved by the State of Kansas.
  • After-School Program Aide -  Work within a group setting with school-aged children helping teach them life skills and problem solving.  Must have a High School Diploma or GED and meet State of Kansas qualifications for attendant care worker:  be 18 years old or older; posses demonstrated interpersonal skills;  have the ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness.  Must be able to work independently and as a productive member of a team.  Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUI’s in the last two years. 
  • Alcohol/Drug Case Manager - High School diploma or GED.  Qualified by two (2) years work experience in alcohol and drug treatment field or a combination of education and work experience.  Must have the ability to communicate positively and effectively with others; to work independently as well as be a productive part of a team.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.  Must complete Case Management training approved by the State.
  • Attendant Care Clubhouse - High school diploma or GED. Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human services situations.  Must have the ability to empower individuals and groups of individuals to reach personal goals.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUI’s in the last two years.  Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van.   Must complete case management training approved by the State of Kansas.
  • Attendant Care Coordinator - Bachelor's Degree, or 4 years of experience with special populations, or a combination of education and experience to equal 4 years required. This position hires, supervises, trains, and assigns attendant care workers for the agency. Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to work productively with other departments and agencies.
  • Attendant Care - Extended Hours - Provide one-on-one support and/or supervision to consumers with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the activities of daily living or in maintaining daily routines critical to a stable life style.  Provide training in daily living skills to improve self help that impact living in the community.  Monitor progress toward meeting treatment plan goals.  Provide support and supervision during consumer crisis.
  • Attendant Care Worker – High School diploma or GED required. This position provides one-on-one support and supervision to clients and families in home and community settings using the strengths-based model of care.  Good communication and teamwork skills are required, as this position often coordinates with other treatment providers in the agency who also provide services to these same patients.
  • Attendant Care - SEK Academy - Full time attendant care/aide position in Independence at our alternative school for children, Successful Environment for Kids (SEK) Academy.  This employee would be expected to assist in leading some classes for the students, help with the daily operational functions of the Academy, and possibly drive students to and from the Academy. Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent, a good driving record, valid driver license, and no abuses against children.
  • Attendant Care -  School Base - This position is part time and could be located at schools in Independence, Coffeyville or Fredonia areas.  General job duties are to assist children with special needs inside the classroom so they can better function with their fellow students to complete the tasks given by the teacher.  Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Must be able to work well with children and have no abuses against children. 
  • Attendant Care - Standby - Job duties include, but are not limited to, assisting patients by transporting them to and from required appointments, which may include transportation to Osawatomie State Hospital.  This is an "on-call" position, which means that employee services are utilized "as needed".  Employee will drive with another staff on these trips to escort patient.  A good driving record is a must, along with valid vehicle insurance.   Applicant must be able and willing to drive several hours in one direction.  Good communication skills are preferred.
  • Attendant Care - Supported Housing - Job is in Independence, KS.  During the work shift, will be available to patients who require 24 hour attended care.  This may include transporting patients to appointments and generally being available to assist patient in receiving services that they require.  Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.  Must have a good driving record and valid insurance, and pass a background check.
  • Attendant Care  - Supported Living – Part-time position in Independence working with our adults who reside in our Supported Living housing.   Our patients receive 24-hour care in this department and the main function is to make sure that if our patients need something, our employees are there to assist them.  High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Billing Clerk - Ability to relate well with people in person and on the phone; one year experience in an office environment involving accounts receivable, collections, or related work with 10-key and data entry experience; and, ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple, concurrent deadlines.  Must have mathematical accuracy and pay attention to detail. 
  • Case Manager – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the human services field required.  This position works with patients and their families to achieve goals on treatment plans, integrates them more fully into their community and helps them access resources.  Accurate documentation skills and cooperative work with internal and external resources is essential.
  • Case Manager – Extended Hours - Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related field.  Posses demonstrated interpersonal skills;  have the ability to work with person with severe and persistent mental illness; possess the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations;  have completed or be willing and able to complete the training program required by the state; and pass pre-employment screens.  Must practice from a strength’s base philosophy, be able to work independently, as well as a productive member of a team.  Must be able to develop a therapeutic rapport with diverse individuals and have effective verbal and written communication skills.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUI’s in the last two years.
  • Children’s Therapist - Must posses a master’s degree from an accredited university which provides graduate training in psychology, social work, or a related field.  Must be licensed or license eligible in the State of Kansas as a Masters Level Psychologist (LMLP), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Masters in Social Work (LMSW/LSCSW).
  • “Connections” Coordinator: Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Business or Marketing with emphasis on Human Services or related field experience.  Completed or be willing to complete Case Management and Case Management Supervisor training approved by the state.  Possess the ability to use discretion and be able to make decisions independently. Must be able to effectively provide leadership and supervision to staff and have the ability to communicate positively and effectively with others.  Must practice from a strength’s based philosophy, be able to work independently as well as working as a productive part of a team.  Must have a dependable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with no more than two moving violations and no DUI’s in the past two years and maintain current automobile insurance. 
  • Crisis Case Manager - Applicants must possess a Degree in Human/Social Services or have a High School diploma or GED, and be qualified by four (4) years work experience or a combination of college level education and work experience.  Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively with others, work independently, and be a productive part of a team.  Applicants must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years, no DUI’s in the last two years and maintain current automobile insurance.  Applicants must complete Case Management training approved by the State upon hire.
  • Clerical Support (including Receptionist – High School diploma or GED required.  A customer service focus and demonstrated ability to work in a network computer environment is essential.  The individual in this position provides support to the many direct service professionals employed by Four County.  Basic job duties often include general office tasks, filing, answering the phone, data entry, and scheduling. Microsoft experience is essential.
  • Computer Technician I - Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs hardware, software, network components, and peripheral components.  Conducts or assists in conducting training, performs maintenance, and assists with network projects and software installations.  Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field or 2 years’ relevant experience in computer installation, troubleshooting, and repair.  Experience with Windows and TCP/IP networking setup and installations.  Other job duties include maintaining our phone system for both land line and cellular phones.
  • Database Support Specialist Manage electronic medical record software and provide reports as needed.  Experience with SQL and Crystal Reports or the ability to learn these programs is essential.  Ability to work in a team environment is critical.  Minimum educational requirements include Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with two years relevant experience.  Billing environment knowledge helpful.
  • Medical Billing Specialist - Must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate; ability to relate well with people in person and on the phone; one year experience in an office environment involving accounts receivable, collections, or related work with 10-key and data entry experience; and, ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple, concurrent deadlines.  Must have mathematical accuracy and pay attention to detail.  Must have valid driver’s license. 
  • Medical Records Clerk - Must have high school diploma or equivalency certificate; be able to relate well with people in person and on the phone; and to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy in the task at hand.  Must have knowledge of office procedures; ability to type/enter data accurately with a minimum typing/data entry rate of 30 words per minute; knowledge of basic filing procedures; and, experience in or ability to learn data entry in a network environment.  Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Para Professional or Aide – High School diploma or GED required.  This position provides either one-on-one support or group support to children or adults.  These individuals are in community or school settings.  Good communication and teamwork skills are required, as this position often coordinates with other treatment providers in the agency who also provide services to these same patients. 
  • Parent Education Specialist - Conducting parenting classes in the catchment area and publicizing these classes.
  • Payroll and Benefits Specialist - Previous experience with payroll and benefits is a MUST.  This is a company of over 300 employees, so daily communication with employees will occur.  Therefore, applicant must posses excellent communication skills with emphasis on customer service.  Specialist must be able to handle dealing with computerized time sheets, as well as hand written time logs.  Microsoft Office program proficiency is key.  Knowledge of applicable wage and hour regulations necessary.
  • Peer Support Specialist - MUST BE a recovering mental health patient.  Required a high school diploma/GED and meet the State of Kansas qualification for Certified Peer Specialist by completing the CAP program or complete a 5 day training by WSU. Help develop a network of information and support from others who have been through similar experiences to patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.  Assist patients with regaining the ability to make independent choices and taking a proactive role in treatment including: discussing questions or concerns about medications, diagnoses or treatment approaches with their treating clinician.  Assist the patient with identifying and effectively managing or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that result in functional impairments.   May be asked to sign a Consumer as Services Provider Informed Consent Agreement prior to employment to acknowledge the potential risks of becoming a service provider for the agency from which you receive services.  
  • Prevention and Outreach Support Specialist - Must have High School diploma or GED.  Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with some evenings based on special events that may be scheduled.  Position requires providing assistance to the Director of Prevention and Outreach in coordinating public relations and marketing/advertising efforts for the Center.  Job will include planning, organizing, and preparing prevention activities and special events such as health fairs, receptions, etc.  Qualified candidate must be creative, able to multi-task and have good public and written communication skills. Graphic design work, as well as web-page design/upkeep for the internal/external website is desired.  Prefer advanced computer skills for this position. 
  • Project Specialist - Full-time position in Independence working in an office setting.  General clerical skills are a must.  Duties may include answering and transferring telephone calls, scheduling patients for appointments, filing of documents, and flexibility to work within several different departments.  Must have a high school diploma or GED and must have good knowledge of general office procedures. 
  • Psychosocial Aide - Position will assist in the ongoing treatment of patients through the Quest-Foundations Psychosocial Groups with the specific responsibilities of providing both Group and Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation to patients during scheduled group times.  Will also work with part time staff in implementing the overall philosophy of the program through modeling and coaching. Will assist in de-escalating patients during times of crisis and provide one on one instruction to patients in need.  Assist Program Coordinator in ongoing program development.  Applicants must be minimum of 18 years old, achieved a minimum of High School Diploma/GED with preference of related college courses and/or previous psychosocial experience.
  • Part Time SEK Academy Therapist - Masters Degree in Psychology or Social Work with the accompanying required licensure.  Must have the ability to communicate positively and effectively with others, to work independently as well as be a productive part of a team.   Must have valid driver’s license.
  • School-Based Case Manager -
  • SEK Academy Attendant Care: Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent, a good driving record, valid driver license, and no abuses against children.  Must work well with children and be very patient.

  • Summer Programming Coordinator - Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field, or equivalently qualifications of work experience or a combination of education and work experience.  Must have the ability to communicate positively and effectively with others, to work independently as well as be a productive part of a team.  Must have a dependable vehicle and valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUI’s in the last two years.  Must have valid driver’s license.

  • Supported Living Specialist - Mid-level managerial position, Bachelor's Degree preferred.  Position provides supervision over housing program and staff in Montgomery county.  Administrative and supervisory skills important.  Experience with special populations helpful; outstanding candidates will possess desire to grow this program and services it provides.
  • Therapist – Requires a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution which provides graduate training in social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.  Potential applicants must be licensed or immediately eligible for licensure as an LMSW, LSCSW, LMFT, LCMFT, LMLP, LPC, or LCPC in the State of Kansas.  The therapist is responsible for providing mental health treatment services and providing consultation services to individuals and organizations in the community. 
  • Transcriptionist - Requires a minimum High School diploma/GED and the ability to key 60 wpm accurately while using dictation equipment. 
  • Transportation "Connections" Driver- Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, have the ability to work with elderly and disabled persons, possess the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations, and pass pre-employment screens. Must be able to work independently and as a productive member of a team..  Must have a dependable vehicle, maintain auto insurance, and a valid drivers license with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
  • Transportation "Connections" Program Specialist - Applicant must posses excellent telephone, computer, and verbal communication skills.  Should be detail oriented.  Filing of paperwork and Medicaid documents is essential, so organization is crucial.  Must have a good driving record, clean background check and current automobile insurance.
